Sittingbourne based company expressgrass has come to the rescue of the London 2012 Olympic Organising Committee with last-minute supply of artificial grass via their online website Expressgrass.com
Despite years of planning, some areas at London 2012 Olympic sites required last-minute artificial grass to cover an area that had been ruined by recent heavy rain and construction traffic. The team at Expressgrass.com were able to supply the artificial grass directly from their warehouse in Sittingbourne to the Olympic sites across the capital.
With the start date looming security around the Olympic venues was extremely high which made delivery excess difficult with all grass rolls needing to pass through security screening before being allowed on site.
Earlier in the month before the Olympic sites had been locked down the company supplied artificial grass for the BBC Studio located on a rooftop at Olympic Park in Stratford, East London. Their natural-looking Deepdale range allowed the designers to transform the rooftop space into a garden set with views overlooking the Olympic Stadium.
"We've seen an increase in sales of artificial grass across the country every year with people looking for an easy to install and maintain alternative to natural grass in their gardens. This year however London 2012 and the Queens Jubliee have created unexpected demand from pubs, clubs and outdoor event companies looking to join in the celebrations"
“The Olympics is the biggest event on the planet at the moment, I'm honoured and delighted that our artificial grass is being used and shown on the BBC and across the world"
