Fake grass is a durable surface that is usually installed outdoors as it can survive in any climate as long as it is cleaned regularly. So, artificial grass requires very little maintenance simply because it does not grow, but the animals and weather generally impact it. The most important form of maintaining artificial grass is through brushing.
Telescopic Artificial Grass Brush Grooming Rake
Pro Version Double Brush Rows version for easy maintenance and cleaning
Discounted to only £12.95 each!
Artificial lawns are much lower maintenance than traditional natural lawns although they do still require some routine care to ensure they stay in good condition.
Traditional garden brooms and brushes tend to flatten the tuft on artificial grass - this does the opposite and gently lifts the tuft back to its correct position whilst removing harmful debris and moss. The high grade polyamide lament bristles gently penetrate the weave of your new lawn, lifting the tuft back to its upright position and sweeping away harmful stones, leaves and other debris.
The artificial grass brush is especially suited for use during installation as it will enable blooming of the entire area as well as lifting and blending joints between sections of Artificial Grass.
Highly recommended to speed up the removal of roll pressure banding and yarn reversal that can occur in new installs.
Perfect for both DIY and professional installers with no access to a Power Broom.
This is the pro version with two lines of bristles, be aware there are very similar products of the market that only feature one line of bristles .
Ordinary garden rakes are far too heavy-handed for artificial grass, while brooms and brushes tend to flatten out the tufts, but at last here’s a custom-designed solution that really works. 194 filament bristles that gently remove moss, leaves and debris while lifting the tufts back to their original upright position, restoring your artificial lawn to tiptop condition.

Decking and Temporary Use
Loose Lay
Lay the artificial grass out and trim to size. It will stay nice and flat by its own weight on any flat even surface. Place a plant pot/garden ornament on the corners it hold it down in areas that are exposed to strong winds.
Aqua Bond Adhesive
Lay and cut the artificial grass as above but instead of leaving it loose, use our Aqua Bond Adhesive to stick it to any clean smooth surface. This will prevent strong winds lifting the corners of the artificial grass.
Decking
If the surface to be covered will accommodate stapling such as exterior ply or decking use a staple gun or tack/nail it directly to the wood. This will prevent strong winds lifting the corners of the grass. Gaps between decking boards may show as lines on the surface of shorter pile artificial grass. We recommend shockpad underlay is stapled to decking first to reduce the chance of this occurring.
Concrete/ Patio Base
Preparation
Make sure that the surface to be covered is clean and smooth ready to receive the artificial grass. A self levelling compound available from any DIY store can remove surface imperfections that may show through to the top surface especially on thinner pile height products. A quicker and cheaper alternative is to cover with our shockpad underlay first then roll out the grass on top.
Acclimatising
Lay the artificial grass on to the clean/level area to be covered. Allow approximately 50mm of artificial grass to trim off to make that perfect edge ie in doorways or up a wall. Leave for around 1 to 2 days to settle. This helps stop any wrinkling or creasing occuring.
Trimming
Cut and trim your artificial grass, using a sharp Stanley knife making sure their are no gaps between walls and grass. Always use sharp blades and change the blade every 3-5 metres
Joining
Make the seams using our Joining Tape and Aqua Bond Adhesive to give strong weather resistant bonds.
Soil / Sand Base
Preparation
You should compact the ground, using a vibrating plate which can be hired at an equipment hire centre but for smaller areas something as simple as the back of a shovel will do
Acclimatising
Lay the artificial grass on top of the sand/soil (as opposed to dragging it onto the base material). Allow approximately 50mm of artificial grass to trim off to make that perfect edge ie in doorways or up a wall. Leave for around 1 to 2 days to settle. This helps stop any wrinkling or creasing occuring.

Joining
For best results use our Sport-Fix Aqua Bond Adhesive on Sport-Fix Joining Tape this will give you a sports grade joins between sections of artificial grass on any surface. Alternatively you can bury a length of treated timber into the ground and staple/tack/nail the edges directly to it.
